My lovely lady has had friends visiting her in Rome (who had expensive tastes that she didn't want to say no to) and we haven't gotten a lot of new jobs lately, which means I'm going to have to ask my shrink to treat me on credit this week and if my big check doesn't clear on Friday, it's going to be a long, hungry weekend.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6564134964285988310.post-15806531931308871272009-05-04T14:39:00.000+02:002009-05-04T14:39:00.000+02:00Jeez, Jeff, that's a real Bowling Alone kind of ta...Jeez, Jeff, that's a real Bowling Alone kind of tale. The whole *point* of why the Vert Anglais' quiz nights are fun is the human contact, and the fact that it's played with a team you're physically interacting with.Ed Wardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12846657618234700638noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6564134964285988310.post-53522759646029920422009-05-03T14:59:00.000+02:002009-05-03T14:59:00.000+02:00In the States, bar trivia is, of course, electroni...In the States, bar trivia is, of course, electronic. The questions pop up on a video screen and you punch in your A-D choice on a controller, graded by how fast you answer. Google helps, but not much - you're only going to win if you know it and you answer fast. You compete with teams nationwide.

It's innovative, and kind of soulless. Unless you can manage to sit near another team that's playing the same actual game in the same bar you're actually in. Then it's fun.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17526470032837468393noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6564134964285988310.post-7523834939442475882009-05-03T00:27:00.000+02:002009-05-03T00:27:00.000+02:00Ed,
